The Transfer Center strives to provide a seamless process for students transferring college credits to and from Lakeland Community College. With this goal in mind the transfer center provides the following services to all Lakeland students:

Transfer of credits from one Ohio public college/university to another has now been guaranteed with the development of the Transfer Module by the Ohio Board of Regents for students with acceptable academic records. View the Transfer Module.

This guide provides answers to your transfer questions and resources to help you become a successful transfer student.
That generally refers to the Associate of Arts (AA) or the Associate of Science (AS) degree. The courses listed in those degrees may not be specific to any particular major. The courses are usually called "general education courses" or "gen eds" and are also referred to as Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36).
Depending on your major, there may be a University Partnership program which allows you to continue taking courses on our campus, but as the student of a four-year institution earning a bachelor or graduate degree.
Not a problem. Lakeland Community College is nationally accredited and our courses are recognized by all other accredited colleges across the country.
Yes, it is a large list. Remember, these are the "gen eds" that were mentioned. You have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of courses that will transfer to a four-year institution. You can also meet with a Lakeland counselor to discuss your options.

Lakeland Community College is a member of the Ohio Consortium for Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts. This is a group of 25 two-year and four-year colleges working together to provide clear, consistent transfer pathways in biology, English and psychology for community college students transferring to one of the participating colleges in Ohio.
Transfer pathways provide assurance that your courses from Lakeland will transfer smoothly toward your bachelor's degree at one of Ohio's participating colleges. You'll transfer with most general education courses complete in your selected major. With an associate degree, you can transfer to one of the participating colleges as a college junior, with your earned credits counting toward your bachelor's degree.
These transfer pathways align with the Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways (OGTPs) in biology, English and psychology. These ensure that associate degrees from Ohio's community colleges provide a clear path to colleges and universities across Ohio.

Lakeland Community College and participating Ohio institutions signed a transfer pledge as our commitment to your success. Check with a transfer adviser at your selected participating college to make sure you meet GPA and other admission requirements.

Lakeland Community College will grant transfer credit for courses completed at other colleges and universities according to the following guidelines:
Transfer students may be required to provide college catalog(s) and/or course syllabi and names of textbooks used in courses to the Transfer Center at Lakeland to ensure thorough transfer credit evaluations.
University Partnership programs, combined with Lakeland Community College coursework, offers an affordable and convenient way to earn a bachelor's or graduate degree close to home. Students may take their first two to three years of coursework at Lakeland – at the lower community college tuition rate – and then transfer seamlessly into one of Lakeland's University Partnership degree programs.
Are you bound for Cleveland State University?
Beginning Spring semester 2020, the CSU Bound program will provide a structured academic pathway to a four-year degree for students who would benefit from starting their educational journey at Lakeland and completing their bachelor's degree at CSU.
Collaborative academic advising will guide students to earn an associate degree from Lakeland and then a bachelor's degree from Cleveland State. The program will also allow students to register seamlessly for classes at both Lakeland and CSU, while taking advantage of both institutions' activities, events and facilities.
This unique partnership makes earning a four-year degree possible for students of all backgrounds and abilities, and will allow students to focus on their studies while prepping for a successful career after graduation.
