About College Credit Plus

Lakeland Community College's College Credit Plus Program (CCP) offers high school students the opportunity to enroll at Lakeland on a part-time or full-time basis, and earn college credit which may also be used to fulfill their high school graduation requirements.

The intent of the CCP Program is to offer a broad range of college level classes which provide educational opportunities not typically available in high school. Admission into this program is open to students who have clearly demonstrated the ability to handle college-level coursework.

What Can CCP do for Me?

CCP students make up nearly 25% of Lakeland's total enrollment. We have students in grades 7-12 from 37 different school districts participating at Lakeland.

CCP students can earn their associate degree while in high school, after high school or through reverse transfer. Since CCP began in 2015, Lakeland has awarded more associate degrees to CCP students each year than any other college in Ohio. Lakeland graduates have one of the highest rates of success when transferring to four-year institutions compared to students with associate degrees from other schools. Lakeland has had CCP students transfer to schools in 46 different states. Check out our academic and career pathways webpage to find the opportunity that works right for you!

CCP students participate in student organizations and programs on campus! Over the years, CCP students have joined the Honors Program, Emerging Leaders, served as orientation leaders, participated in academic competitions, received academic awards such as the Provost Awards, and became members of Lakeland's honors societies.

Oliver Richard One of my favorite things about Lakeland is the CCP program, which is a great opportunity to earn college credit so that I'm able to save time and money in the future. It was great that I was able to earn two degrees while still in high school, so I can earn my bachelor's degree in 2 years. Oliver Richard College Credit Plus

Ariana Oroz I loved coming to class to learn about real-life cases that my professors have experienced and the opportunity to go through mock crime scene scenarios. Especially with the recent development of the criminal justice program, I enjoyed "investigating" a "residence", simulating a grave excavation, and lifting fingerprints. It is a bittersweet moment that I will be graduating. Ariana Oroz Criminal Justice
