Fall 2021 Tutoring Services

Fall semester tutoring services will be hybrid, which means a combination of in-person, on-campus and remote tutoring options using the Webex platofrm.

Monday & Thursday | 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Tuesday & Wednesday | 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday | 9 a.m. - noon, remote only

Tutoring

FREE tutoring is offered by professional tutors and well-trained and faculty recommended peer tutors. Students have the ability to schedule appointments one week at a time, when they need it rather than committing to a semester long tutoring session. Subjects include: Accounting, biology, business, chemistry, computers, English, logic, math, music, nursing, psychology, physics, college writing, study skills and more. Click here to view available tutoring hours.

How to Make an Appointment

The steps to make an online appointment are the same as when you make an in-person appointment. Log in to myLakeland, click the Student Tab, click Schedule It, click Schedule a Tutoring, Writing Center or Academic Study Skills Coaching Session and follow the prompts!

When you make an appointment to meet with a tutor or student success navigator online, you'll receive an email confirmation in your student email account with a link to join the meeting. We encourage you to give it a try!

If you have a question or problem scheduling an appointment with either a tutor or student success navigator, please call us at 440.525.7019. If we don't answer, please leave a message with your name and phone number or email us at learningcenter@lakelandcc.edu and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Academic Study Skills Coaching

Academic study skills coaching is an opportunity for students to work with a Student Success Navigator to learn the "why" and "how" to develop good study strategies and habits.

Top reasons why you should attend an academic study skills coaching session:

  1. They are free.
  2. They are offered at convenient times and locations.
  3. There are no tests or homework.
  4. Students can attend as many as they want.
  5. They are packed with information relevant to life as a college student.
  6. They provide skills students need to know.
  7. Sessions are available by walk-in or appointment.
  8. Friends are welcome, the more the merrier!

Topics include:

  • Note taking
  • Organization strategies
  • Study skills
  • Time management
  • Tips for test success
  • Reading comprehension
  • Blackboard and myLakeland orientation
  • Habits of successful college students
  • Test-taking tips
