Transfer from Lakeland Community College

Suggestions for Successful Transfer Planning
  • Decide early that transferring to a four year university to complete your bachelor's degree is your goal.
  • Work closely with a Lakeland Community College counselor as well as with the advisor at your intended transfer school in order to select the appropriate courses based on the requirements of the transfer school.
  • Representatives from a variety of four year institutions regularly visit Lakeland's campus. This offers students the opportunity to meet informally with a college representative to discuss transfer options. Be sure to check the Lakeland Transfer Center calendar, myLakeland, or the Transfer Center and Counseling and Advising Center websites for upcoming college representative visits.
  • Decide where you would like to transfer and the major you plan to pursue.
  • Be aware that degree requirements vary from university to university as well as within the specific colleges and schools of a university.

How to Maximize the Number of Transfer Credits
  • Earn an Associate Degree while completing general education requirements that are required during the first 2 years at most institutions.
  • Follow the Transfer Module and Transfer Assurance Guide (TAG) pathways for guaranteed transfer of the courses you take to any public institution in the State of Ohio.
  • Use Transferology to see how courses transfer and apply toward the completion of a college degree.
  • Work closely with Lakeland Community College Counselors to follow transfer guides and agreements set up with our university partners.
