Resources for Entrepreneurs
Our goal is to mobilize and coordinate Lakeland's many resources in order to build capacity for entrepreneurship programs and services in our area.
The center works in partnership with the Lake/Geauga Small Business Development Center at Lakeland Community College. Together, the programs provide quality learning opportunities for small businesses in the community and our students.
Lakeland's Entrepreneurship Center supports existing businesses and encourages the creation of new businesses. Below is a summary of the resources available through Lakeland's Entrepreneurship Center.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Program provides various types of management assistance to existing and start-up businesses. This is mainly accomplished through one-on-one counseling sessions. These services are offered at no cost to the client.
Businesses can take advantage of the COSE Business Space at Lakeland. This space offers free access to fully equipped, professional office space at the main campus in Kirtland.
In partnership with the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority, the Center sponsors an "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" which recognizes and honors a local entrepreneur at the annual Fast Track 50 awards event.
