About Lakeland

Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College was the first college in Ohio created by a vote of the people. True to our mission, Lakeland provides quality learning opportunities to meet the social and economic needs of the community.

Offering day, evening, weekend and online classes, the college served 8,735 (unduplicated head count) credit students during the 2019-2020 academic year (Source: 2020-2021 IPEDS 12-Month Enrollment).

Credit courses
Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, Lakeland offers more than 135 associate degree and technical certificate programs leading to high demand careers or transfer to four-year institutions. Tuition remains one of the lowest in the state of Ohio.

Lakeland's Holden University Center was established in 2011 to provide further opportunity for those with higher educational goals. The Holden University Center offers bachelor's and graduate degrees from a variety of four-year partner institutions.

Noncredit courses
In addition to credit coursework, the college also offers noncredit workforce and professional development courses throughout the year. Through noncredit education professionals can earn their continuing education units, or CEUs, to keep their skills current and certifications up to date.
