For Veterans, Family and Military-connected Students

The Veterans Center is here to support the path of educational success and personal development for veterans and military-connected students.

Lakeland Community College is committed to helping active duty personnel, veterans, reservists and dependents attain their personal and professional goals. The veterans center can help with questions about educational benefits, scholarship opportunities and veterans resources.

Our Services

We serve veterans and their families in many ways, from helping secure educational benefits, to our on-campus center, to helping you connect with off-campus resources. Click the links below to learn how to enroll, the benefits you may be eligible for and the various programs offered both on and off campus to help ensure success in college and beyond.

Lakeland Community College employees do not receive incentive payments for recruiting service members. The college does not aggressively contact service members or engage in same-day recruitment and registration for the purpose of securing service member enrollments.

Veterans Readmission Policy

It is the policy of Lakeland Community College to ensure that any student whose absence from an institution of higher education is necessitated by reason of service in the armed services shall be entitled to readmission upon return from military service without an application if:

  • the cumulative length of the absence does not exceed five years;
  • the student submits a notification of intent to reenroll to the registrar; and
  • the student's service did not end in dishonorable or bad conduct discharge or dismissal.

Oliver Richard One of my favorite things about Lakeland is the CCP program, which is a great opportunity to earn college credit so that I'm able to save time and money in the future. It was great that I was able to earn two degrees while still in high school, so I can earn my bachelor's degree in 2 years. Oliver Richard College Credit Plus

Ariana Oroz I loved coming to class to learn about real-life cases that my professors have experienced and the opportunity to go through mock crime scene scenarios. Especially with the recent development of the criminal justice program, I enjoyed "investigating" a "residence", simulating a grave excavation, and lifting fingerprints. It is a bittersweet moment that I will be graduating. Ariana Oroz Criminal Justice
