Dr. Morris W. Beverage Jr. is the fifth President of Lakeland Community College, serving since 2001. He previously served as Lakeland's CFO and treasurer for 12 years.
Prior to joining Lakeland, Dr. Beverage was the Director of Finance for the City of Mentor, Ohio, an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Cleveland and Manager of Finance at Fredon Corporation.
He is past Vice Chair of the Governing Board of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC). His service at the state and national levels includes representing community colleges in Ohio on policy-related committees, as well as testifying before legislative hearings on issues related to higher education.
Dr. Beverage is a past president and a past board member of the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO); he also served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
He holds a Doctor of Management degree from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio, a Master's degree in business administration and Bachelor of Science from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, an Associate of Arts degree from Lakeland and was a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio.
