Some materials can be hazardous to use in a laser cutter-engraver, such as certain plywoods, inks, adhesives, dyes, and paints. If you are unsure whether a material is safe, ask a HIVE team member.
For makers with advanced 3D printing skills, HIVE offers two 3D printers that print with selective laser sintering. These printers are currently available for Lakeland class assignments in which SLS 3D printing is a requirement.
Equipment in HIVE's prototyping shop is currently available on a case-by-case basis. If you have a project in mind and are interested in utilizing the shop, please email us at hive@lakelandcc.edu.
Please note that equipment is occasionally down for maintenance, and this list is not updated to reflect temporary equipment outages. Visit our scheduling site for the most up-to-date equipment availability.
One of my favorite things about Lakeland is the CCP program, which is a great opportunity to earn college credit so that I'm able to save time and money in the future. It was great that I was able to earn two degrees while still in high school, so I can earn my bachelor's degree in 2 years.

I loved coming to class to learn about real-life cases that my professors have experienced and the opportunity to go through mock crime scene scenarios. Especially with the recent development of the criminal justice program, I enjoyed "investigating" a "residence", simulating a grave excavation, and lifting fingerprints. It is a bittersweet moment that I will be graduating.
