It's been too long! We're excited to announce that HIVE will begin to reopen during the month of September, offering makers a combination of virtual and scheduled in-person opportunities to make, tinker and learn. We'll connect with you in new and familiar ways, working together to bring your ideas to life. Explore this page to learn about the different ways you can make things with HIVE during the pandemic!

During this time, priority will be given to Lakeland students and their projects.

Service Requests

If you have the design ready for your project, we can make it for you! During the pandemic, many of HIVE's resources will be offered as a service. Makers may place service requests for projects to be completed on a 3D printer, vinyl printer/cutter, laser engraver or CNC router.

In some cases, a small service fee may be associated with a project, which is based on the level of complexity and time necessary to complete the request. An estimation of cost and production time will be provided prior to the start of fabrication.

Some projects may require material drop-off. For complex projects or larger quantities of items, we may refer you to a production facility.

Appointment Requests

Select HIVE equipment, tools and maker materials will be available for use by appointment only. Experienced users may request an appointment in HIVE for the heat press, laser engraver, and CNC router or table saw (with a socially distant buddy).

Because the safety of HIVE visitors and staff is our top priority, makers requesting an in-person appointment must attend a virtual COVID-19 Safety Orientation session prior to their visit, as well as complete a pre-visit wellness survey.

All appointment requests are subject to approval by a HIVE staff member. In order to keep staff and visitors safe, it may not be possible to accommodate all requests - we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
