If English is your second language and you're well above a beginner level, but not quite ready for college level, we have a class to help you improve your English!
Class snapshot:
- For anyone who needs to improve English-language skills to prepare for college-level classes, especially those requiring writing.
- Coursework includes learning proper sentence, paragraph and essay structure; principles of grammar and mechanics; and revising and editing techniques.
- Writing assignments will include paragraphs and short essays.
- Practice listening to lectures in English and taking notes.
- Develop reading comprehension skills, vocabulary, speaking and pronunciation skills.
Once you apply, you can register for ESL: College-level Literacy (ESLP 0170; CRN 31448).
A limited amount of grant funding is available from The Lakeland Foundation in the amount of $300 for each of the first six students who register.
