The personal trainer certificate at Lakeland is designed for those interested in working with people to improve the state of their health and fitness. In this program, students gain an education in anatomy and physiology, first aid, diet and weight management, and strength and cardio fitness training. The certificate program also includes an internship.

At the end of the program, students are prepared for a certification exam, which is recommended, but not required. In addition, many of the courses may be applied to an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree, and may also be applicable for transferring to a four-year college.
