Veterans Center Relocation
The Veterans Center at Lakeland Community College relocated from the Engineering Building to a newly constructed space in the Student Center. Construction started May 18, 2023, and was completed September 2023.
Lakeland's Veterans Center serves nearly 200 veterans and their families. The college is designated as a Military Friendly® School. The new center will include offices, conference space, a computer center and lounge area.
Located on the second floor of the Student Center near other student clubs and organizations, the veterans center has access to a new shared activity center. The relocation was necessary due to the planned expansion of the Engineering building and presented an opportunity to improve student support services.
The project cost was $759,329. Funding was provided by college local funds and donor contributions.
