ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

Lakeland's Engineering Technologies career courses are ideal for students who want to maximize their job skills in the minimum amount of time. Engineering Technologies prepare students to apply scientific engineering knowledge and methods in conjunction with technical skills in support of professional engineers. The following engineering technology programs are offered: civil engineering technology, computer integrated manufacturing technology, construction management, electronic engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, network infrastructure engineering technology, and nuclear engineering technology. Courses prepare students for immediate employability or transfer to a four-year college or university. Lakeland graduates are in demand by employers who recognize the relationship between an educated, highly trained work force and corporate productivity and profit.

Faculty members have years of experience working for local industries and many take an active role in assisting the placement of their students. Lakeland's engineering technology programs are reviewed annually by special advisory committees to ensure that programs are current and of the highest quality. As the needs of local industry change, new courses and equipment are added to technology programs.

Layce Artman I graduated with my associate degree from Lakeland while at the same time graduating as Valedictorian from high school. I plan to attend the Holden University Center to complete my bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Layce Artman College Credit Plus

Michelle Timms One thing I really love about Lakeland and being in the honors program is that the teachers have small classes and they are very devoted to their students. My friends at four-year institutions are taking the same intro classes that I am, but in large lecture halls with a lot more students. Michelle Timms Associate of Arts
